Philip Rosedale will soon focus on what matters most...

So, Philip will leave his chair of CEO (perhaps Mitch gently pushed him away...) to dedicate his full time to product development and strategy.

May I apply to his current position?

Blog influence

(English version)

I recently read a few blogs talking about the blogosphere and in particular the influence bloggers might have.

Many comments fed the discussion, for example in an attempt to define what an influancial blog could be.

Some of these comments mocked bloggers who unmodestly believe they are influential whereas their literature is actually of little importance in comparison with the "matters" of this world.

I am not going to bring my own water to this mill that vainly turns on itself, but I cannot help laying before your eyes the result of a few (rapid) cogitations on the subject.

Take the example of my blog (I learned from experience that I was never better served than by myself) which must have at the very least a readership of about fifteen faithful mannonenphiles.

Imagine that the future Einstein accidentally falls over it by entering in Google the sequence "loving domme in second life" (have a try, you will see) and that by only reading the article of my friend San, a spark gushes from his aroused mind, making him realize that the reunification of the force of gravity with the other three forces governing the infinitesimal was actually of a biblical simplicity (I would give him right away and verbally the solution, but that would be too easy, passage through my blog is an obliged stopover for achieving the universal knowledge)

I freely admit that the chances of this happening are rather small, but after all, there are those who win the lottery...

And my blog would be the most powerful that the world has ever known, with only fifteen regular readers.

ClustrMaps Vs Feedjit

Two days ago I added ClustrMaps on my side bar.

This new map enters in competition with my "old" Feedjit map.

Main difference (if I am not wrong) : ClustrMaps records all visits on the blog, whereas Feedjit takes into account the more recent ones (excerpt from the FAQ: Feedjit's live traffic map shows the geographic locations of the last 100 visitors to your blog or website on a small map)

Anyway I think I will keep both maps, for two reasons:

- I like to see a map with all my visitors, even those who came only one time on my site (currently they are the vast majority, they fall by chance on me after having entered silly words in Google; I will soon write something about my search-words)

- I also like to see only my latest visitors, it gives a better picture about my usual readers.

I have an existential map. It has 'You are here' written all over it.
