Joy to the World.

The North-South... Game. An interpretation of Merlino Mayo's art. Machinima Arm Strom

Machinima from The Cycle of Naturae art exhibition (March 28 and to the end of May 2011) by Merlino Mayo, and the Ultrasonne concert by Ultraviolet Alter. Place: MiC - Musei di Roma Capitale (The island of Rome's museums) in Second Life.

The exhibition was a large, complex and powerful experience. The artist focused a.o on the complexity of nature, and its elements.

In my limited selection of movie clips, I have chosen to focus on the element of water. For me, nature is also politics, including resources and geopolitics. The exhibition, in the virtual Rome museums, got me also to think about the important events, which is now underway in the Mediterranean region, and the severe drought in the Horn of Africa. And later unfortunately, the tragedy that has hit Oslo, and the youth on the island Utøya in Norway this summer.

The machinima "SymbioticA-Exotica or Vice Versa" is inspired by art in Second Life, and SymbioticA an artistic laboratory dedicated to engagement with the life sciences and issues of life manipulation. I was intrigued, it made me curious and gave me a creepy feeling too. Something that feed my imagination.

The machinima features artwork from The University of Western Australia (UWA), and The Diabolus Artspace. Artists: Velazques Bonetto, Merlino Mayo, Asmita Duranjaya, Dusty Canning, Nish Mip, Kirky Kiergarten, Alizarin Goldflake and Igor Ballyhoo.

The machinima is my contribution to MachinimUWA III: Journeys at The University of Western Australia.

Among my first experiences in Second life, as a newbie two years ago, was the celebration of halloween. And this snapshot was one of my first in Second life.

Yesterday, on Halloween, i published a machinima:
"Eye of Newt".  

The environment in this machinima/video is made by Beatrix Newt, a magical virtual artist and Rezzable contentcreator.

This is the well-known incantation of the Three Witches in Shakespeare's Macbeth, 1605:

We now see the three witches' brew as a hocus-pocus spell, much imitated by spoof witches in comedies and hardly to be taken seriously. Best of Brooklyn is Watching Year 1 festival. 72 Second life artists nominated

In february 2009 i did show various builds, under water,  at the sim Brooklyn is watching in Second life. Among them the project on the picture above.
