I-Voyager Les Echos

Another (very poor...) parallel world, where you are supposed to get knowledge on various subjects and chat with other avatars.

I was the only one to be connected, good for the lag!

The configuration panel has the great merit to be clear and simple.

Unfortunately the customizing of your avatar is simple too, so you have little choice...

Your camera is always behind you (I didn't figure out how I could look at my face...) and the movements controls are somehow cumbersome.

You can access to different medias presented by mock-ups.

Nos rêves...Our dreams...I don't know if I am dying for dreaming in this scenery.

Notre travail...Our work...I understand better, it's a place where you work, not for fun.

When I go downstairs I lose the control of my avatar who is wandering from me, which is rather unpleasant...

On the first floor my camera is above me, I cannot position it just behind me but something is nevertheless visible...

Second Life!

Quite inconclusive when your are used to SL or Hipihi (I prefer Hipihi even whith my invisible avatars!) but it is just a beginning for the French economic newspaper les Echos.

Good luck Les Echos, but try and don't repulse your readers, 3D-Web deserves better treatment than this "voyage au bout de l'ennui"...

A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner, neither do uninterrupted prosperity and success qualify for usefulness and happiness. The storms of adversity, like those of the ocean, rouse the faculties, and excite the invention, prudence, skill and fortitude or the voyager. The martyrs of ancient times, in bracing their minds to outward calamities, acquired a loftiness of purpose and a moral heroism worth a lifetime of softness and security.
